Return & Refund Policy

At The Designer Outfit, we strive to ensure every order delights you. While most of our pieces are made-to-order and go through multiple quality checks, we understand that issues can arise—and we’re here to help.

You have 48 hours after receiving your order to report any issues and request a return, if eligible.


Eligibility for Returns

We accept returns only in the following cases:

  • The item has visible damage or a manufacturing defect

  • An incorrect item or wrong size was shipped

  • The item has unfixable defects in the fabric or finishing

To qualify:

  • Items must be unused, unwashed, and in original condition with tags intact

  • You must notify us within 48 hours of receiving your order

  • Return shipping is the customer's responsibility

  • Returns must be sent to the address listed below (see “Return Shipping Address”)

  • Restocking fee - 20% will be applicable

Non-Returnable Items

We do not accept returns in the following situations:

  • Custom-stitched garments, including made-to-measure outfits and pre-stitched sarees

  • Ready-to-wear sarees with customized blouses

  • Returns initiated after 48 hours of receiving the order

  • Minor variations in color, design, embroidery, or fabric texture (please read “Color & Fabric Disclaimer” below)

  • Items missing original tags or showing signs of use


Order Cancellations

Orders can be cancelled within 12 hours of placement. After that, the order moves into processing and stitching, and cancellations are not possible.


Returns for Ready-to-Dispatch Items Only

If you ordered from our Ready to Dispatch category and simply changed your mind:

  • You can return the item for a store credit or exchange

  • You must cover both forward and return shipping costs


Refunds

Refunds are processed after the returned item reaches our facility and passes inspection. Once approved:

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days

  • Depending on your bank/card provider, it may take an additional 2–5 business days for the amount to reflect

  • If you haven’t received your refund after 15 business days, please email us at support@thedesigneroutfit.com


Color, Design & Fabric Disclaimer

Please note:

  • Slight variations in color may occur due to lighting, fabric dyes, or screen resolutions

  • Raw silks, brocades, khadi, and similar textiles may show thread lines or weave textures—this is not a defect

  • Embellishments such as sequins, beads, and mirrors may loosen or shed slightly during transit or wear; this is normal and not considered damage


Beads, Sequin & Embroidery Policy

Outfits with intricate handwork may shed embellishments during shipping or wear. This is a known characteristic of these garments. Returns will not be accepted for minor bead/sequin fallout.


Item Unavailability

If an item in your order becomes unavailable:

  • We’ll contact you for an alternate product choice

  • If no replacement is desired, a full refund will be issued for the undelivered item(s)

Important Note on Delivery Acceptance

Please inspect your package before accepting it from the courier. If the outer packaging appears tampered or damaged:

  • Make a note of it on the delivery receipt

  • Refuse delivery if needed

  • Contact us immediately so we can assist
